A neuropsychologist performs tests of cognitive functions. A person may be referred for a neuropsychological assessment if they are experiencing problems with memory or concentration. Most referrals arise due to a brain injury (as may be experienced in a motor vehicle accident) or a neurological disorder (stroke, brain tumour, Alzheimer's Disease).
